“Off-the-Charts Good”

KEARNEY— Temperatures reached 100 degrees Saturday, but that wasn’t enough to keep the 25th-anniversary Cruise Nite from being one of the best.
More than 500 loud, fast and unique cars from the region made it to Downtown Kearney: The Bricks for the marquee summer event’s milestone.
“It looks like everybody’s having a great time,” Cruise Nite Chairman Brad Kernick said. “Nobody has said anything about the weather. We haven’t had this kind of quality in recent years. This is off-the-charts good.”
Car fans from across the state turned out in full force to see one of the most impressive collections of cars, trucks, motorcycles, drag racers and oddball cars of all shapes and sizes.
Two jet-powered drag racers were on display in the MONA parking lot before they took to the Kearney Raceway Park dragstrip later in the evening.
Pete’s Patriot, an annual fan favorite at the show, also made an appearance downtown.
Former Miss America Teresa Scanlan spent the day on The Bricks signing autographs and posing for pictures in front of the renovated World Theatre. [Read the full story at the Kearney HUB…]
